A new space for RoS’ future

Blog by Janet Egdell, Operations and accountable officer at Registers of Scotland.

Really exciting news – we have just agreed the lease for our new Glasgow office. We will move into St Vincent Plaza in the second half of 2016.

For RoS, this move is less about a building and more about designing a new platform that is fit for the digital registration and information business we are transforming ourselves into. We will be using the office to test and trial new digital systems that we will be rolling out in the next 18 months. It may well become the future home for the new ScotLIS (Scotland’s Land Information System), on which we are collaborating with a number of partners. It may also be where we take forward significant work on completing the land register.

Having said it’s not about the building, the building also brings us significant improvements – it’s more flexible, more carbon efficient and it reduces our costs. It will give us a single floor layout, so we can flex the space to suit our changing business and use it much more effectively. You can find more details on our news pages.
