What an exciting way to end our financial year here at RoS. We’ve just despatched the very last two cases under the Land Registration (Scotland) Act 1979 – one was a first registration, and the other was a transfer of part.
Completing all the old casework has been a phenomenal achievement. When the new legislation came into force on 8 December 2014 (the 2012 Act), we had 45,824 applications submitted under the old legislation still needing to be completed, and inevitably many of these were the most complex cases. Within just one year, a dedicated team had completed all but 82 of these cases, leaving just those where there was still an outstanding query to be answered. Today, the final two have been completed and despatched.
