Half way through the annual Registrars of Title conference here in Perth, Western Australia, it’s a good time to pause for a moment of reflection. The theme of the conference is disruptive technology and that has so much relevance for RoS as we move forward with our business transformation programme.
We are not alone in this. Businesses across the globe are leading and getting to grips with digital development. Automated transport, nanotechnology in contact lenses, robots with artificial intelligence, digitally controlled homes, accessible big data about land and property are all things we can look forward to.
Digital business transformation is being embraced by land registration bodies in many countries. It is about doing things differently, creating new business designs and not just inserting a wee bit of automation here and there. The RoS of 2020, like Landgate our sister organisation here in Perth, will be a very different organisation. We will be doing our work digitally, in real time, and will be fully engaged digitally with our customers, more of whom will be Generation Z with a lot fewer Baby Boomers like me. After all, YOLO.
