From Zetland to Ayr – the first leg of our autumn campaign

Following on from my blog post in September, our Ayr to Zetland Campaign is now well underway. It has been a busy couple of months so far and I’m looking forward to meeting more stakeholders from all over Scotland in the lead up to the festive season.

On 25 September, I was lucky enough to travel up to Orkney and Shetland, to attend local faculty meetings and meet with our stakeholders and customers. This was a great start to our campaign, and helped us strengthen our relationship with our customers across Scotland and allowed me to understand the unique challenges they face in different parts of the country, and how we can support.

It was particularly interesting to see the emphasis on crofting, something that I’ve rarely had a chance to discuss with customers since taking up the role of Keeper in April.

As part of our campaign, some of my colleagues and I appeared at the Scottish Paralegal Conference in Dundee on 2 October. Over 70 paralegals with backgrounds in conveyancing, family law, debt recovery and private client work were in attendance, and as part of my keynote speech, I provided an update to our customers on recent RoS developments.

Alongside this, we had members of our customer relationship and digital uptake teams promoting our land information service, ScotLIS.

Our first ever podcast was also launched on 4 October, in which I discussed my career, equality and transforming an historic organisation. Have a listen below if you haven’t already.

On 17 October, I travelled to Ayr, for our first A-Z campaign workshop. We had a number of speakers along from RoS to update our customers on our registration processes, digital transformation, and the arrear, as well as having a ‘Your View’ section which allowed our local stakeholders to express their thoughts, ideas and pain points in an open, constructive environment. This time spent with customers is invaluable as it allows us to see RoS through their eyes and lay the foundations for lasting, trusting relationships with our customers all over Scotland.

We’re keen to engage with as many of our customers as possible, from all over Scotland. We’ve arranged our events in locations where faculties have expressed an interest or invited us to participate in existing events, however if there is not an event near you, please contact your local law faculty to express an interest in having an event in your location, which we would happily set up to follow on from the current round of engagement.

If you’d like to get involved in our autumn campaign, make sure to check out our Twitter, Facebook and YouTube channels for more updates, or book onto an upcoming RoS workshop in a city near you.
