Customer Excellence – independent assessment

Registers of Scotland is committed to continuous improvement and providing a high-quality service.

Customers are at the heart of everything we do, and while we acknowledge we still have work to do to reduce our backlog of open casework, we want to ensure that you receive the best possible service when you get in touch.

This focus on customer service has enabled us to achieve the Customer Service Excellence Award (CSE) for another year.

Piloting Embedded Title Sheets

Our main priority is to clear our open casework. To help us process cases more quickly, we’re exploring a different way to present a small number of Transfer of Part (TP) title sheets.

Read our blog to find out more about our Embedded Title Sheets (ETS) pilot.

Register of Persons Holding a Controlled Interest in Land (RCI)

The Register has been open for submissions since 1 April 2022.  Non-compliance became an offence after 1 April 2024, meaning those in scope who should be on the register but have not made a submission could risk a fine of up to £5,000.

Although the 1 April 2024 date has now passed, we will continue to accept submissions, and would encourage those in scope of the legislation to make the appropriate submissions as soon as possible.

It is important to be aware that following submission there is an ongoing duty to update the RCI entry when an event occurs that affects the information held on the register.
